PLEASANT RETURN PADDLE PRE-SUNDAY LUNCHEven if you haven't got too much time on your hands it is still possible to fit in a paddle on a Sunday morning before rewarding yourself with a hearty lunch at the pub. The route stretches south past Claverton, and if you have a little more time, towards the 19th Century Dundas Aqueduct near Monkton Combe.
It can be a busy stretch of water on hot sunny days with pleasure boat cruises and self hire barges sharing the waterway. The route is also lined with houseboats with friendly locals who like the brief chat as you paddle past. With no locks on this stretch of the the canal, you can just concentrate on enjoying the landscape and being in the moment. A great remedy after a busy week. Good to paddle solo or as part of a group. IMPORTANT INFORMATIONAll personal craft must be licensed when on the canal waterway system. Please check out the Canal and River Trust website for more information.
